Navigate tight corners and connect your plumbing lines directly to threaded fixtures with the 15mm x 1/2" Brass Compression Female Elbow. Manufactured from highly durable, corrosion-resistant solid brass, this 90-degree adaptor features a standard 15mm mechanical compression socket on one end and a 1/2-inch internal (Female) thread on the other. It is the perfect plumbing solution for turning 15mm copper or flexible polycop piping 90 degrees and connecting it directly to 1/2" male-threaded taps, angle valves, or iron piping without the need for a blowtorch or solder.
Key Features:
Size: 15mm Compression x 1/2" Female Thread.
Angle: 90-Degree Elbow.
Material: Heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant Solid Brass.
Connection Type: Mechanical compression (includes nut and internal olive) to an internal female thread.
Application: Ideal for hot and cold water plumbing, easily transitioning between plain pipe runs and male-threaded fixtures around corners.
What does "(F)" mean on this elbow? The "(F)" stands for Female. It indicates that the 1/2-inch side of this 90-degree fitting has its threads on the inside. This is designed to receive a Male threaded fitting (where the threads are on the outside), such as a standard tap tail, threaded nipple, or male iron pipe.
Where would I use this specific fitting? This fitting is incredibly common for wall installations. Plumbers often use it to turn a 15mm water pipe 90 degrees so it faces out of a wall, providing a secure 1/2-inch female threaded socket to screw in an under-sink angle valve, a washing machine tap, or an outdoor garden tap.
Do I need thread seal tape for this adaptor? You should never use thread tape (PTFE tape) on the compression side where the nut and olive are. However, you absolutely must wrap thread tape around the external threads of the male fitting that you are screwing into the 1/2" female side of this elbow to ensure it does not leak.
