Easily connect standard water pipes to threaded fixtures with the 15mm x 1/2" Brass Compression Coupler. Manufactured from premium Dezincification Resistant (DR) solid brass, this adaptor features a 15mm mechanical compression fitting on one side and a standard 1/2-inch thread on the other. It is the perfect solution for transitioning from 15mm copper or flexible polycop piping directly into 1/2" threaded valves, taps, or existing galvanized iron pipes without the need for soldering.
Key Features:
Size: 15mm Compression x 1/2" Thread.
Material: Heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant DR Solid Brass.
Connection Type: Mechanical compression (includes nut and internal olive) to threaded.
Application: Ideal for hot and cold water plumbing, transitioning between plain pipes and threaded fittings.
What does "DR" mean on this brass fitting? The "DR" stamp on the side stands for Dezincification Resistant. This means the brass is manufactured to the highest plumbing standards, preventing the zinc inside the alloy from leaching out over time. It ensures the fitting will not become brittle and is completely safe for clean drinking water systems.
How does this adaptor work? One side of the fitting uses a standard compression nut and olive to grip onto a plain 15mm copper or plastic pipe. The other side is a standard 1/2-inch thread, allowing you to screw it directly onto an existing threaded pipe, shut-off valve, or tap fixture.
Do I need to use thread tape? Yes and no! You should never use thread tape (PTFE tape) or hemp on the compression side with the nut and olive. However, you must use thread tape on the 1/2-inch threaded side to ensure a watertight seal when screwing it into another fitting.
